Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Isabelle Mignault was raised by her Quebecois parents, a German step-mother and a Jewish-American step father. Their mysterious and contrasting family histories feed her images. Often the action isn’t in the face of the characters she paints and draws, but in what they see, feel and think about.
